明夷

36. Darkened light

míngyí · Earth ☷ over Fire ☲

A time of concealing one's inner radiance — wisdom amid a difficult, unfavorable environment.

The Noble One's Path

Light that has sunk beneath the surface of the earth. Sometimes wisdom means not showing all of one's brightness outward, but keeping it inside instead.

The Lesson

You don't always have to display your truth outwardly. In difficult situations, keep clarity in your heart, but act discreetly.

A question to sit with

What do I need to protect within myself, so my inner light doesn't go out in these circumstances?
