The capacity to receive and to carry. Not passivity, but an active generosity that makes room for others.
The Noble One's Path
The classical image is simple: the earth rejects nothing; it bears everything standing on it. The Noble One does the same toward people — he doesn't measure first who deserves what, he asks instead how much he himself is able to carry. This is the most "human" of the Confucian virtues, Ren — plain benevolence that needs no justification.
The Lesson
Before you judge whether someone deserves your help, ask whether you even have room for it. Generosity isn't a calculation — it's a decision that you have something to give.
