13. Fellowship with people

tóngrén · Heaven ☰ over Fire ☲

Openness to others, building something shared across divides.

The Noble One's Path

Heaven and fire — together, yet different. The Noble One builds fellowship not by blurring differences, but by recognizing them accurately. This is discernment (Zhi) in the service of relationship.

The Lesson

Look for people who share your goal — but be clear about your own intentions. Hidden motives quickly tear any fellowship apart.

A question to sit with

Do my relationships build something shared, or do they only serve me?
